As others I share the sadness of Chris' passing on into the next life. Chris was a great friend and we had a ball together. We left to go do a session in Pensacola, FL it was Chris, George Cummings and I. We really had a great time, and George and I had the most memorable time of catching fish we had ever had. The stringer broke, and yes the bunch that got awya became the joke line with Rex Ludwig, Chris, and clayton Ivey. The Miami sessions were awesome we did on George. I loved George as a dear firend ever since I was about 20, and met Chris sometime after. I loved to go to Meridian with him, and would go back and see him. We had some fun adventures together.

Chris Ethridge.
I had the pleasure of spending the last years of Chris' life as an unspoken men-tee. We spent so many nights together talking and staying up until the wee hours at his mothers house.. Even though Chris was 37 years older than me I always felt like I was with my best friend. I will always be grateful for all the things he shared with me, his encouragement, and the doors he opened in my career. He remains my inspiration and I miss him dearly. Thank you Chris for being you. Love you

Chris
I will always miss my dear friend and fellow music maker. We had some great times together in various parts of the country. California, Nashville, Austin and Miami and the good times in Meridian with Cecil Crowe, Curtis Daniels, Stan Watts and many more good Meridian friends. The sessions we did in Miami on some off my songs were my favorites. The trip we took to Austin and golfing on Willie Nelson's course got me into the great game of golf. Chris was on bass the night they gave to me on the Sucarnochee Revue at the Temple theatre last year. Chris was a free spirit and a kind
hearted person who made his mark in the hard music world. His special playing on all the many hit records he made gave me the inspiration to carry on. I will miss you brother, We will keep your spirit alive!! Bless you.

Great Musician & Even Better Person
I've had the pleasure of knowing Chris since I was a kid, he was always easy to talk to and joking around. My father & Chris were great friends for so many years, they both shared the love of playing & writing music & from the same hometown, hard not be friends for life. The last time I got to see him was in 2001 when I made a trip to Meridian to see my grandfather. It was just like when I was a kid again except now that I was older I heard some of the really good stories, and of course he was still his comedic self. Even though I didn't get to see or talk to him often myself we're thinking about you Chris. The Cummings family sends their prayers the Ethridge family, great musician & even greater person.....RIP

By Far the best Article ever about Chris Ethridge!
Stephen Corbett's depiction of the life of Chris was so authentic. I have read so many articles that others have written that were circumstantial storys. Thank you Mr. Corbetts, while wiping the tears from my eyes as I was reading your article, you made me feel proud for my friend Chris to have had somebody who wrote about him in a heart-felted manor.
Chris was a even-tempered, friendly, and kind man. His unique sense of humor will never be forgotten. I am so honored that I had the pleasure of being friends with Chris during his last 2 decades. During the time when he was hospitalized before he died I am thankful to be apart of ones who he allowed to spend sometime with him before his passing...precious moments that I hold near and dear to my heart. You are missed so much Chris! R.I.P. Chris Ethridge...until I see you again. Love you always!

Thank You
Chris was my friend and my down-the-street neighbor. I have read all the articles about him that have come my way but feel that I need to thank you, Stephen, for this one. I could tell that you had spent time with Chris and could hear his voice speaking the words in all the quotes you used. It made me cry and then feel happy to have known him. Thanks for your well chosen words.

I grew up in the same, small town as Chris. You could just about count on seeing him either on stage or in the audience at every local musical event. He was always smiling, always glad to see you. He was a superb musician, + always encouraged anyone interested in playing music. But I'm glad you have aptly discribed his most shining attribute. He was a wonderful person.

Having known Chris for nearly my entire life..we were truly family..Chris not only shared his love of music and people with friends such as myself..childhood friends..but also with the younger generations...He took both my daughter and granddaughter into his life and blessed them with his friendship and his, knowledge of life..I will always remember and be grateful to Chris for this...The weeks and days before Chris death was quite a time of bonding for us all...With him in the hospital..with immediate family at his side.. he allowed a few of us to spend the last few days of his life together...Rosemary..Kenny Squire.. Steve Watson..Bo Denton.. along with others ..including myself..daughter Casey and my granddaughter Madalyn Rose.who was greatly loved by Chris..and who learned to love Chris as we have done for so long...shared those last precious moments with Chris..indeed a GREAT musician but also a great person....He is now playing with the Big Band...R.I.P. Chris...we all love you...Brother

Fantastic Article on Chris Ethridge
Marianne: This is really one of the best articles I have read about Chris. Your readers will get to know the Chris we knew: the humble, kind, gentle, generous, caring friend who will forever be loved and missed by his friends and fans, alike. He was truly one of a kind, and those who didn't know him personally missed knowing a man who was the epitome of grace and selflessness. Thanks for sharing this article before the hard copy hits the shelf.

Stephen thanks for the great article on Chris. I agree with you that his bass runs play a very big part in making " The Guilded Palace Of Sin" the great record that it is.
